Prosocial behavior depends on the size of rewards. These experiments show people to be more prosocial in low stakes situations and more selfish when potential rewards are larger.
Evaluating pro-social behavior from low-stakes interactions alone may not accurately predict conduct in high-impact scenarios, as success can alter initial altruistic tendencies, potentially leading to project failure in later stages with higher stakes.
